Product Description

Mobilgear OGL 009 is an advanced technology semi-fluid lubricant incorporating both extreme pressure additives and finely dispersed graphite for load carrying. It is intended primarily for the lubrication of large, slow to medium speed, heavily loaded gears. In addition to providing outstanding load carrying, it is formulated to have excellent adhesion and resistance to "fling-off" under extreme pressure conditions. The exceptional FZG gear test performance demonstrates a high level of protection against wear and scuffing. Mobilgear OGL 009 is lead-free and chlorine-free. It contains no solvent or diluent and poses minimal environmental concern. Absence of solvent or diluent also enables the product to maintain full specification during storage and use. The low temperature properties and slumpability are suited to spray applications under a wide variety of conditions. The product is easily pumped from drum to application spray nozzles with conventional transfer pumps.

Applications

Mobilgear OGL 009 is recommended for the lubrication of large, heavily loaded slow moving open gears in heavy duty industrial applications as found in the steel, cement, paper, chemical and mining industries. It can be used in these applications where the operating temperatures are high, for example, ring gears on cement kilns and ball mills. It also has applications in plain bearings where the high base oil viscosity and high graphite content will give additional protection.
