Product Description
Mobil Delvac 1 SHC 5W-40 is a very high performance, synthetic diesel engine oil that provides excellent lubrication including long drain capability, helping towards long engine life for diesel engines operating in severe applications. The advanced technology behind this product delivers exceptional performance in turbo-charged as well as older naturally aspirated engines. Mobil Delvac 1 SHC 5W-40 is recommended for use in a wide range of heavy-duty applications and operating environments found in trucking, mining, construction, agriculture and marine.
Features and Benefits
Modern high output diesel engines run hotter than older engines which significantly increases the demands on engine lubricants. Current tighter engine designs reduce oil consumption, resulting in less fresh oil makeup to replenish depleted additives. Top piston rings are located higher bringing the oil film closer to the combustion chamber where temperatures increase thermal stress on the lubricant. Mobil Delvac 1 SHC 5W-40 helps to protect the engine under severe operating conditions. It is also fully compatible with conventional mineral oils. The key benefits include:
Features | Advantages and Potential Benefits |
Excellent thermal and oxidation stability | Control of low temperature sludge build-up and high temperature varnish deposits |
High TBN | Helps towards extended drain intervals with high sulphur fuels |
Advanced formulation and viscometrics | Maintains viscosity in severe, high temperature service |
Excellent low temperature pumpability | Easier engine start-up and reduced wear |
Good resistance to corrosion | Helps towards long life of critical wear surfaces |
Long drain capability | Helps towards good operating efficiency and lower overall cost |
Component compatibility | Long gasket and seal life, extended service intervals |
Low volatility, excellent wear and bore polishing control | Good oil consumption control |
